Christa’s Creations is a Canadian small-batch skincare, artisan soap and home-care brand based in West Point, Prince Edward Island, specializing in handcrafted products made with grass-fed beef tallow and thoughtfully selected ingredients.

I’m Christa, and I make each product in small batches using ingredients I’ve carefully chosen for my own home and family. From grass-fed beef tallow soaps and whipped body butters to lip care and simple home products, my focus is on creating hardworking everyday products without making things unnecessarily complicated.

Many of the herbs and botanicals I use begin right in my PEI garden, where I grow, dry and infuse ingredients for some of my seasonal skincare and soaps.

How Christa’s Creations Began

Christa’s Creations really started with me taking a closer look at what was in the everyday products I was using at home.

I wanted simpler ingredient lists, fewer unnecessary additives and more control over what my family and I were using every day. What started as research quickly turned into experimenting in my own kitchen — first making products for myself and my family, and eventually creating the soaps, skincare and home products I make today.

Beef tallow became one of my favourite ingredients to work with. I loved its traditional roots, its rich feel in soap and skincare, and how versatile it was for the kinds of simple products I wanted to create.

Today, grass-fed beef tallow is at the heart of many Christa’s Creations recipes, but the idea behind the business is still the same: simple ingredients, thoughtful formulas, and products I genuinely feel good about using in my own home.

Grass-fed beef tallow has become one of the ingredients I reach for most often. It has been used traditionally in soap and skincare for generations, and I love the rich, simple formulas I can create with it.

In my soaps, tallow helps create a firm, long-lasting bar with a rich, creamy lather. In my body butters, face creams and balms, it creates a beautifully conditioning texture that pairs well with the oils, butters and botanicals I choose for each formula.

I often combine tallow with ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil, olive oil, beeswax, essential oils, herbs and botanical infusions. Some of those botanicals even begin in my own garden here in PEI before being dried or slowly infused for use in my products.

Every recipe is a little different, but my approach stays the same: use ingredients with a purpose and keep the formula as simple as I can.

I’m involved from start to finish — choosing ingredients, developing recipes, making and pouring products, cutting soap, labelling and packaging each item.

Some of the herbs and flowers used in my botanical infusions begin in my own PEI garden. I grow and harvest ingredients such as calendula, then dry and slowly infuse them for use in selected skincare and soap recipes.

Because everything is handcrafted, you may notice slight differences in colour, shape, scent or texture from one batch to the next. Those little variations are part of what makes handmade products unique.

Christa’s Creations is proudly based in West Point, PEI. As a small Canadian business, I choose small-batch production over mass production, which gives me the freedom to create seasonal products, experiment with ingredients from my garden, and make products in quantities I can personally oversee.

Some products are available year-round, while others come and go with the seasons, my garden, or the ingredients I have available.

That’s part of what I love about making things this way — every batch has a little bit of its own story.
